    Gilmore, J.W. (This may be James W. Gilmore whose information
    follows.  There were J. W. Gilmores in the following Texas units:  
    Morgan's Regiment, Texas Cavalry, Company E and 11th Battalion,
    Texas Volunteers (Cavalry and Infantry) (Spaight's) Company D.  The
    James W. Gilmore was living in Tyler County at the time the men were
    being recruited for Spaight's Battalion.  Many of the men in this unit
    were from Tyler county.)

    James W. GILMORE was born about 1836 in Georgia.  

    He was a Laborer in 1860 in Tyler County, TX.  

    He resided between 1860 and 1880 in Tyler County, TX.  

    He served in the military in 1863 in Confederate Soldier, 11th Battalion,
    Texas Volunteer Calvary & Infantry (Spaight's), Co. D..  

    He was a Farmer in 1880 in Tyler County, TX.  

    He died in Colmesneil, Tyler County, TX.  He was a Saloon Owner.

    He was married to Rosella (Rose) HOOKS (daughter of James T. (Jim)
    HOOKS and Rebecca (Becky) SHEFFIELD) on September 25, 1860 in
    Tyler County, TX.  

    Rosella (Rose) HOOKS resided between 1838 and 1846 in Early
    County, GA.  She was born in February 1838 in Early County, GA.  She
    resided between 1846 and 1852 in Baker County, GA.  She resided
    between February 1853 and 1860 in Spurger, Tyler County, TX.  She
    resided between 1860 and 1880 in Tyler County, TX.  She was a
    keeping house in 1880 in Tyler County, TX.  She died in Colmesneil,
    Tyler County, TX.
